They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept.Sr. Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across lines of business while partnering and influencing executives to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately manage risks within the Card business.This role focuses on understanding and identifying third party risk for Retail Bank and Premium Products with our Third Party Risk Management Horizontal Risk Management Program. The Sr. Risk Manager lead program enhancement efforts and will partner with stakeholders to identify potential Third Party Risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. The Sr. Risk Manager will provide advice and effective challenge in all areas of Third Party Risk Management, from individual third party situations (e.g., monitoring actions, IATPM findings, XDS, issues and events, Business Continuity) to larger bodies of risk that span Retail and Premium Products (e.g., RCSA and DORR). The Sr Risk Manager will work closely with trusted advisors in the second line of defense (ORM, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Privacy and Compliance) to assure first line compliance to third party risk governance policies, and standards.Responsibilities Include:
Own and lead division program enhancement initiatives aimed at improving our overarching third party lifecycle and/or our underlying risk policies and processes
Set direction, manage expectations and lead automation enhancements, process improvements and well managed program and reporting improvements
Create and maintain collaborative environments between other risk teams and partner groups
Provide thought leadership and guidance for supporting and improving Third Party Risk strategy, governance, and practices
Create collaborative environments between Third Party Risk, Technology, Business Continuity, External Data Sharing, Compliance and other business support functions (e.g., Legal, Privacy)
Facilitate governance forums and present program updates to senior leadership
Analyze data and influence others to proactively identify risks and trends
Provide oversight and guidance during risk assessment and reporting (e.g. RCSA and DORR) and during audits and exams
Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and business changes and understand and react to the impacts to the business
Provide risk consulting for third party risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed
Analyze end to end process to proactively identify third party risks and trends
Design appropriate controls for risk third party risk mitigation
Effectively challenge our first line of defense business partners, 2nd line of defense advisors (Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management) and 3rd line of defense Auditors on third party risk matters
Participate in risk, data, cyber and technology management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of third party risk practices
The ideal candidate has excellent program, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and communication skills. Qualified candidates will have experience interacting with regulators and/or auditors, and third party providers, preferably in the financial services industry. The role demands an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment. Candidates must also display strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity. Candidates should have experience with technology solutions and have experience in third party risk governance.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 3 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Process Management or Project Management
At least 3 years of experience in Risk, Compliance, or Audit
At least 5 years of experience in Third Party Management
At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
At least 3 years of experience working with internal business clients
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
7+ years of experience in Third Party Management
4+ years of Financial Services Risk Management experience
4+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Process Management or Project Management
Risk, Data or Privacy related certifications (such as CISSP, CISA, or CRISC certification)
